Single and Crowded

These Symbol books are the most popular method for presentation of Lea Pediatric Symbols. Both books use Lea Symbols and are spiral bound. Pages measure 13cm x 13 cm (5x5in.) Each set includes the 4x legend and individual cards. These are used for matching or to help the child become familiar with the Lea symbols.

Single Symbol Book (10 Feet, 3 Meter). The Single Symbol Book is ideal for situations in which the child/adult cannot perform when tested with a line test. This book can help determine the best resolution of the visual pathway in a child or adult with amblyopia or impaired vision. Includes isolating mask and instructions. Each page has 1 to 4 symbols of the same size. Includes 13 pages with optotypes ranging from 3/30 (10/100) to 3/1.5 (10/5). 5" x 5" (12.7 cm x 12.7 cm) .

Crowded Symbol Book (10 Feet, 3 Meter) Variant of the line test for children or adults who have difficulty concentrating on a chart. The center symbol is surrounded on four sides by symbols of the same size. Correct identification of the middle symbol is necessary. The interaction between the center symbol and the surrounding symbols is approximately the same as in a line test. The test size is convenient and easy to handle during screenings, home visits, and unique testing situations. Often, this is the first line test that can measure visual acuity of a young, amblyopic child's eye, revealing the effect of crowding. Includes 16 pages with optotypes range from 3/9.5 (10/32) to 3/2.4 (10/8). 5" x 5" (12.7 cm x 12.7 cm). 19-36 months
