When an infant does not respond to the Small Fixation Stick, try these two larger stimuli to assess the infants visual sphere. After regaining the child's interest, the tester can continue the examination.  On the back of the paddle is a grating pattern that can be used to break habituation and momentary loss of interest during assessment.
