Lea Gratings® Test are an easy-to-use tool for measuring grating acuity of preverbal children and of multidisabled individuals of all ages.

The test consists of six 20cm (8 inch) gratings at 0.25, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 4.0, 8.0 cpcm (cycles per centimeter of surface) and an additional paddle with solid gray surface. This test is made off durable, easy-to-clean plastic paddles printed on both sides. Useable from birth to 18 months. This test is also called Square Wave Grating Stimuli Paddles.

This test can be used with infants or children and adults with low cognition when communication difficulties prohibit the use of optotype tests to measure visual acuity.  This test measures and individual's ability to detect the presence of parallel lines of decreasing width to provide information about the function of some parts of visual pathways.
