The Stereo
Cube is used to diagnose Stereo and Binocular vision in children and
adults without the use of
polarized glasses. The test can be used for testing and training of
Binocularity, Stereopsis, Visual Attention, Form and Depth Perception. The
images seen are void of all monocular clues to form and depth. Form and
depth perceptions are based solely on the retinal disparities created in the
intact binocular vision system. Correct responses will be voiced within 30
seconds. Instructions show each figure and are used for a matching exercise
for non-verbal patients.
The Stereo
Cube tests for a range of 850 to 450 seconds of arc and is ideal for
establishing the presence or absence of depth perception such as in vision
screenings. The cube
contains 4 side panels. Panel one shows the letter 'E', the next panel
shows a circle and the third panel shows a square and the fourth is blank.
The fourth is blank to serve as a control. Figures are viewed straight on at
a distance of 12-16 inches.
Stereo
Cube Disparities at 16 inches:
E = 450
seconds of arc
circle = 650
seconds of arc
Square = 850
seconds of arc
