Designed as a Pediatric screener, the child is first introduced to the "raised" model of the "E".  Wearing the polarized goggles, the child is then asked to identify which of the next two cards has a similar "raised E".  The test is conducted at 20 in (50 cm).  The cards are mounted in plastic frames to avoid handling.
