Sahlgren Vs Lanthony Comparison                                                      View Shopping Cart

Some comparisons of the Sahlgren's Test and the Lanthony desaturated D15 test conclude the following:

1. The Sahlgren's Test  assesses the saturation threshold instead of any color confusion. It appears that saturation is affected at an earlier stage than color confusion.

2. The Sahlgren's Test provides a quantitative measure of any deficit: the Lanthony desaturated D15 test does not.

3. The Sahlgren's Test test principle is believed much easier for patients

4. The Sahlgren's Test result is seen as much easier to tally than to construct (and interpret) the Lanthony desaturated D15 test diagram

5. The Sahlgren's Test goes directly for that part of the color circle that is most likely to be affected in acquired dyschromatopsia: the Lanthony desaturated D15 test does not

6. The Sahlgren's Test is much less prone than the Lanthony desaturated D15 test to produce false positive results
