The Lanthony Desaturated Test is similar to the
Farnsworth D15 except that the colors are desaturated. This permits evaluation
of the patient's finer color discrimination and is used to separate 'normal'
color perception from mild color deficiency in deutan, protan or tritan.
We offer two versions of the Lanthony 15C.
One is boxed in
a Plexiglas® container. The discs are spread out on a table and arranged by the
patient. The magnetic version, encloses the discs in a sealed plastic box.
Arrangement is accomplished using a magnet. This keeps the discs clean and they cannot be lost.
GROWING IMPORTANCE OF ACQUIRED COLOR SCREENING
In addition to congenital color deficiency screening,
there is growing evidence that adult acquired color deficiency, especially in
yellow and blue perception, can indicate medicinal toxicity and other problems.
Increasingly complex security and medical systems also require verification of
normal color perception in the three types of color receptors.
HOW THE LANTHONY DESATURATED TEST WORKS
The Lanthony test is called 'dichotomous' because it
was designed to separate subjects into one of two groups:
1) normal color or
2.) mild color deficiency.
This is accomplished by the arrangement of
desaturated color discs.
A perfect score shows normal color perception.

Both versions of the Lanthony 15 disc test include a durable laminated score template for copying and comprehensive
instructions.
The regular test also includes a Plexiglas®
case and a bag of 10 non-latex,
lightly powdered gloves to prevent fingers from contacting the color
discs directly.

cloth protective pouch as show here:
