The SPP1 was developed in 1978 to increase the detection
and classification of subjects with congenital color vision defects. Plates 1-4
are for demonstration and plates 5-19 are for evaluation. The test looks for
Protan and Deutan defects (red and green) only.
The SPP2 test includes testing for acquired
blue-yellow
deficiency due to the incidence of various diseases and give special testing for
acquired red-green defects not detected in plates designed to detect congenital
defects in these colors. This book contains 12 plates with plates 1-2 for
demonstration and 3-12 for evaluation.
The plates were developed by Drs. Hiroashi Ichikowa,
Kaitiro, and Shoko Tanabe. Genro Kawasami is also listed as an author on the
SPP1 test. They were both published by Igaku-Shion in Tokyo and have performed
very well in recent tests.
